Why is soy better?

Soy is a vegetable and biodegradable. It is produced in the USA, which supports our economy and struggling farmers. It is clean-burning, which means it will not produce that black-soot that is impossible to clean off of your ceilings. Soy burns slower than paraffin-based candles so you'll get the most out of your money! It's easy to clean off of clothing and furniture and because of its low burn-point it's less harmful to you and your children. If you care about the environment and your health, you should choose soy.

What is in your wax?

Our wax is 100% vegetable; soy beans and botanical oils. Nothing else. The soybeans used to make the wax are free of all herbicides and pesticides and our wax is guaranteed to contain NO petroleum, paraffin or beeswax products. There is no toxic or genetically modified materials and our wax is all natural and biodegradable.

Why don't you color your candles?

As far as we know, there is NO natural or non-toxic dye for candle wax.

What's the difference between your standard and aromatherapy line?

Our standard line is designed to have a stronger scent-throw with the use of fragrance oils. They're your more typical candle that will fill the room with aroma and clear out the air. Our aromatherapy line is scented with only pure essential oils and offers a more subtle and natural background scent. The unique blends are designed for mood-enhancing and are great for creating a spa environment in your own home. Placed next to your bathtub or on your night stand before bed can put you in a deep, relaxing state.

What are the burn times of your candles?

When burned properly, the 4 oz. Travel Tin should last 30-40 hours. This specific size is designed to fill a small bathroom or hotel room. The 8 oz. tins will burn 40-50 hours and are best used in medium-sized rooms or a larger, enclosed space. Our 16 oz. tins are designed to fill an open space or larger room.

What is the proper way to burn a candle?

In order to assure the longest burn time and strongest scent-throw, always burn your candle for 3-6 hours the very first time you light it. The idea is to melt the entire top layer of wax all the way to the side of the tin before you blow it out. This is known as a 'memory burn'. The next time you burn your candle, the wax will continue to follow the same form and burn outwards as opposed to tunneling down the middle. In general, the longer you leave your candle burning at one time, the stronger the scent-throw and the less melted wax you will leave along the rim. And don't forget to always trim your wick to 1/8"! For aromatherapy candles, AFTER THE CANDLE HAS COOLED, place the lid back on as a way to keep the scent from leaking out.

Are your wicks lead-free?

Yes. We only use cotton wicks in our candles.

Where should I burn my candle?

Our tins are designed with small 'feet' on the bottom to ensure air circulation to pass through the underside and cool the bottom. Our candles are safe to burn on any heat-resistant surface that is stable and flat and away from any flammable material.

If I'm sensitive to fragrances, can I use your candles?

Everyone is different, but our candles are made with only the best and purest type of wax and fragrance/essential oils. Our aromatherapy line is the cleanest type of candle you can buy. They contain no artificial fragrances or chemicals and are made with only natural materials that are safe for your lungs and the environment.
